HERE FOR IT OR KEEP IT?: “Sonic The Hedgehog” is Officially Getting the Live Action Treatment As Trailer Releases By Paramount Pictures (WATCH)

Another day, another image from our childhoods getting the live action treatment.

Yesterday, an official image leaked of comedian and actor Jim Carrey’s character “Robotnik” in the upcoming movie for Sonic The Hedgehog. The 57-year old comedian’s fitted mustache marked the arrival of a new villain in town, while also teasing a promising performance by the legendary artist.

When asked about the movie, Jim Carrey shared with Collider: “If it’s something I think that I can explore a new side of myself or I can actually kinda go back and hit that really absurd energy that people really love, the Ace Venturas and those types of characters, so it was an opportunity to do that again.” Now with the teaser of Carrey’s stylish appearance out, we can finally present an official trailer to the upcoming Sonic film, set to hit theatres later in November this year.

In the trailer dropped by Paramount Pictures, we spot our cartoonish hero, whose newly polished and designed appearance may bring forth serious feelings of nostalgia to anyone who’s ever played the Sega arcade game back in the 1990s. The fast-paced blue hero is placed on a mission to save the earth from the evil plans of Carrey’s character Robotnik. The trailer reveals the involvement of several and notable actors including Ben Schwartz (Parks and Recreation) as the voice of Sonic, Neal McDonough (Band of Brothers & Suits) and James Marsden (X-Men).
