FACTS OR REACHING?: Underground Rapper Accuses Nicki Minaj of Stealing Lines for Her Lil Baby Remix “Barbie Drip” After Blocking Him on Social Media (LISTEN)

A rapper named Lil Jay Wop is claiming Nicki Minaj stole from him for her take on Lil Baby and Gunna’s hit “Drip Too Hard.”

Prepare for the “Barbs” to have an aneurysm, because someone new is out here making claims against Nicki Minaj. Nicki Minaj’s Beats 1 show Queen Radio returned yesterday, bringing along with it two new freestyles from the rapper. One Being “Barbie Gon Bad,” a freestyle over Meek Mill & Drake’s “Going Bad,” followed by Barbie Drip”, a freestyle over Lil Baby & Gunna’s “Drip Too Hard.”

From referencing Meek’s legal woes to bragging about her successes, both freestyles are generating buzz for more reasons than one, as listeners noted she took swipes at an artist she says is biting her style. “Imitating Nicki, while your ghostwriter dissin’ me,” she raps, though doesn’t mention any names.

Today, it seems one up and coming young rapper who goes by the name of Lil Jay Wop believes Nicki is imitating him. Yes, that sounds absurd, but let’s hear the guy out for a second. Jay Wop released a record in October of 2018 called “Stone Cold,” in which he raps “I stay colder than the winter, but I’m hotter than the summer, three full clips on the hip, no gunna.” Jay Wop posted that clip to his Instagram immediately after hearing of Minaj’s record in which she similarly raps “Cooler than the winter, but I heat up like the summer, f*cking with my baby I’ma gunna.”

“So this is how famous n*ggas roll???” Jay Wop ranted to Instagram “Nobody can tell me she ain’t rip me.. especially after she blocked me,” he continued, alleging that Minaj had blocked him on Instagram prior to the premiere of the song. Per usual, the young rapper was attacked by Minaj’s dedicated legion of fans with claims that he was making the entire thing up. To which he replied by posting video recordings from his phone in attempt to legitimize his claim of being blocked by Minaj.

While it isn’t unheard of for musicians to to draw inspiration from others, on another hand one has to wonder if someone of Minaj’s stature has even come across a rapper of Jay Wop’s to commit the accusation. However.. another question comes in with the whole “instagram block” that just makes the entire thing sketchy. Look, I don’t know. I’ll let you guys hear it and be the judge. Keep me out of it, it’s Sunday and I don’t need the “Barb” headache. Take a listen below:
