MEN LIE, WOMEN LIE, NUMBERS DON’T LIE: Cardi B Officially Has the Longest-Charting Debut Album From a Female Rapper of All Time with “Invasion of Privacy”

Cardi B has once again made her way to the history books.

I’ve said time and time again that Cardi B’s boss ass debut album ‘Invasion of Privacy’ is undeniably one of the most flawless debuts in female rap… well, ever. Now, while I’m willing to admit that this is certainly just my opinion, it seems that opinion is now being solidified with numbers as Cardi’s latest achievement sees her surpass a milestone set by a hip hop legend.

Last week we revealed that Bardi was then one of two women sharing the title of the longest-charting debut album from a female rapper, clocking in a total of ninety-one weeks next to The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, obviously by the legendary Lauryn Hill. Listed as one of the top albums of the entire decade by many publications, it should come as no surprise that ‘Invasion of Privacy’ has officially taken that crown on it’s own according to this weeks Billboard 200 album chart.

Cardi’s project which has since gone 3x platinum has now broken the aforementioned tie with Hill as she’s achieved 92 consecutive weeks, according to Chart Data, which means the Bronx superstar makes history as the longest-charting female rap debut of all time. Invasion of Privacy was released after a breakout 2017 in which Cardi had her first hit single with “Bodak Yellow,” which interestingly enough, she also shared a record with Hill with by being one of the few female rappers to have a record go #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart.

Fans now anxiouslu wait Cardi’s sophomore album which is set to release this year. She’s previously joked about titling it “Tiger Woods” but that has not been made official. Congratulations to Cardi on her consistent success as she heads towards a third straight year filled with more accolades. We love to see it.
