Nicki Minaj went ballistic after seeing an old clip from Jermaine Dupri’s show “The Rap Game.”
Nicki Minaj has been in defense mode for some time now and has no problem calling out anyone she feels isn’t showing her respect to her liking. Coining herself as “the bad guy” for the last few years, the self-proclaimed Queen of rap has been vocal about her feelings claiming the music industry is forming a “Nicki hate train” and trying to tarnish her legacy. Nicki’s latest incident involved a two-year-old clip from Jermaine Dupri’s reality hip-hop competition show “The Rap Game,” where the young female contestants were deterred from saying Nicki Minaj influenced their careers, and the “Megatron” rapper was not here for any of it.
Nicki posted the clip to her Instagram page Thursday, and in it, you see a female reporter ask the girl contestants what rappers they look up to. “If you want to be in this industry, unfortunately, you don’t have that many examples you can look up to. Because I wouldn’t say Nicki would be your example,” she said. “Or you tell me if she’s your example because I got a question after that if you tell me that’s who you’re looking up to.” In a separate clip, Jermaine Dupri revealed that one of the contestants, Ricci Bitti, initially said that she idolized Nicki Minaj but later switched her answer to say she looked up to Queen Latifah after the woman made that seem like a bad choice.
Minaj had a few choice words for the woman who asked the question, and the young woman who was afraid to say her name. “Look @ the hate & bitterness on this BLACK woman’s face when someone says their influence is the most dominating female rapper of the last decade chile,” she said in her caption. ALL OF YOU GIRLS DO THIS. SO SAD. Even male artists gotta pretend in interviews now chile. LMFAO. If you’re this weak minded you won’t last in this game anyway. This is what’s going on behind the scenes @ award shows, radio shows, etc. They gotta say they was influenced by ppl who was rappin b4 they was born chile. Anything but those 10 little letters on a big sign. N I C K I M I N A J”
This of course caused Nicki’s band of defenders, the “barbz” to foam at the mouth and attack both the contestant the now 16-year-old contestant Ricci as well as Kim Ford, the interviewer featured in the clip. The young rapper clarified she was just 13-years-old at the time and felt pressured by an adult to change her answer. Minaj then followed up by letting her fans know Ricci was the victim here and to back off. That didn’t however stop them from attacking Fox to which she didn’t back down by stating in her IG story, “I said what I said” and “Nicki isn’t for young girls…adult women..ok. But girls…no.” Take a look at the video and all the receipts below. What are your thoughts?
