Would Wendy really want to avoid smoke with Lil’ Kim?
Wendy Williams was all set to attend Us Weekly’s Most Stylish New Yorkers party, but apparently canceled just hours before the event. Sources claim she decided not to go after discovering that Lil Kim would be honored during the evening’s festivities.
According to the folks over at Page Six, negotiations between the scandal-struck chat-show host’s team and the event’s organizers in the run-up to the big night, with Williams agreeing to appear in return for being included on the list. Supposedly her team told the organizer’s the morning of the event that she had to drop out because of a “scheduling conflict,” the stunned staff made a flurry of calls in an attempt to get her to change her mind.
Insiders say arrangements had already been made to make sure that Williams and Lil’ Kim — who have traded words in the past about the rapper’s plastic surgery and Williams’ alleged fling with Kim’s ex, Biggie Smalls — weren’t seated close to each other at the event at Cathédrale at Moxy East Village. The two made previous headlines earlier this year when Kim pulled out of an interview for Williams’ show among others noting that they weren’t respecting her wishes about staying way from certain questions.
Apparently, all the other honorees showed up as planned. They included La La Anthony, Coco Austin and Ice-T and Sara Haines. “Scheduling conflicts” seems to be Wendy’s go-to reason for everything.
