It’s certainly no secret that Mo’Nique and her husband Sidney aren’t exactly at the top of the Oprah Winfrey fan club and in their latest YouTube podcast/video, wasted no time coming for Oprah … again because they didn’t approve of her interviewing Michael Jackson’s accusers.
They went in on Oprah regarding her interview with Wade Robson and James Safechuck, who both claim Jackson touched them inappropriately when they were young boys they appeared in the HBO documentary, “Leaving Neverland“ that aired this week.
“Here’s a man that was found not guilty in the eyes of the law,” Mo’nique said, referring to the outcome of Jackson’s 2004-2005 trial when he was accused of molesting a 13-year-old boy. “And you wait for 10 years after this man was deceased, to now do an interview with people who said they lied.”
Mo’Nique spoke on the supposed relationship Oprah and Michael had and the fact that he was welcoming to her.
“For me, it’s sad and disheartening. That man welcomed you in his home. And you spoke of how beautiful, and all the love this man has shown children all over the world.”
he 51-year-old comedian/actress then accused Winfrey of using her popularity to dig up Jackson’s alleged past.
“When we’re calling someone a molester and they’re no longer here… Michael Jackson is not here to defend himself, which is a major problem. [He was] found not guilty… then you come back and you allow these two men to get on your platform and tell this story, and that man cannot defend himself, who does that?”
“Was it right, or was it for ratings,” they asked. The couple took calls from their viewers who agreed that Oprah was wrong for throwing the late king of pop under the bus to appease her powerful Hollywood friends (read: David Geffen) and to take the heat off of their own skeletons in the closet.
One caller said Oprah gained fame and fortune from the dysfunction of Black people. “If you don’t have a movie or book deal, you can’t even sneeze in her direction.”
