In preparation for YAM’s Day 2019, A$AP Rocky stopped by the Angie Martinez show to talk about some surprises in store for the show as well as his current relationship status.
Yam’s day has become an annual event in NYC to celebrate the life of A$AP Yams with some of the biggest artists coming out to show love and pay respect. Past years have included surprise performances from Kendrick Lamar, Young Thug, The Weeknd, The Weeknd+ many many more! This year they’re aiming to make the show even bigger taking over The Barclay Center for a wrestling-themed concert. Speaking on the show Rocky wants to continue to keep the show going every year because it’s a great tradition on top of it helps promote new up and coming artists as well as having Yam’s friends pull up. After Yams past away the “Always Strive and Prosper” foundation was started to help bring awareness to drug addiction. Rocky is also trying his hand at being sober going now 15 days since the new year started.
However, one question Martinez was sure to address was is A$AP Rocky single or taken. Responding to that he did say he is seeing someone however unlike his previous girlfriend Kendall Jenner this one isn’t famous. Saying he is not normally a relationship kind of guy and hates when rappers spend a bag on a girl stating he’s never spent money like that on any woman. He actually believes women should spend their money on him, he revealed:
“I feel like girls should take me shopping. That’s not even me trying to sound cool and cocky, I really do believe that.” When simply asked “Why?” by Martinez, he quickly replied “because I’m handsome. No homo, I’m a bad b*tch.”
