SURVIVING R KELLY: Dame Dash Says He Didn’t Support Jay-Z & R. Kelly’s “Best Of Both Worlds” Because R. Kelly Upset Aaliyah – “She Couldn’t Talk About it, She Said He Was a Bad Dude” (VIDEO)

At the time of her passing in 2001, R&B’s angel, Aaliyah, was with the man she gave her heart too, music producer, Damon Dash. Talk at the time was that two were going to be married and Dame Dash was clearly shook and broken from the passing of R&B singer Aaliyah in a plane crash. The couple appeared to be very much in love.

So it would be only fitting that the question be asked to Damon Dash, “what did you think about the documentary ‘Surviving R. Kelly’?”

Starting at the 9 minute mark of the video below Dash sat down with Kenyatta “The Hip Hop Motivator”, and spoke about how Aaliyah would never speak of details of R. Kelly to Damon Dash, all she would say was he was a very bad dude. He also goes on to say with the limited knowledge he had of Kelly he would not support him back then and called people to the carpet on their dealings with him, if they were dealing with Dash as well, he couldn’t support R. Kelly. What bothers him is the fact that people continued to support R. Kelly even when they knew what was going on.

At the 10:00 mark, Dame also said he never supported Jay-Z and R. Kelly’s “Best of Both Worlds” collaborative project after learning about Kelly’s child porn sex tape. He even went as far as taking his name off the project under Roc-a-fella at the time. Instead he shared his cut with Aaliyah’s breast cancer organization. It was a whole mess, Jay-Z still moved forward…
