Apparently the grand closing came as quickly as the grand closing when it comes Azealia Banks relationship she managed to conjure up.
Barely a week ago there was a glimmer of hope that Azealia Banks would finally put her bitter, cracked out, rants about her more successful peers in the music industry to rest. As the tragic rapper who once had so much promise announced that she was now engaged to artist Ryder Ripps, fans became hopeful that Azealia may turn her ways around after finding happiness, while others cringed for Ripps assuming wifing Azealia was a terrible idea. Well, it seems none of those scenarios matter as according to Azealia…it’s over.
While she was sharing loved up Palm Springs vacation photos on Instagram with Ripps on Sunday, the controversial rapper announced the relationship was over by Monday. “Lol, I just dumped @RyderRipps. He’s too insecure for the wildly creative she-wolf in me,” she wrote. Before adding “I’m keeping the menorah ring tho,” of course referring to the engagement ring her initially gave her, an obvious nod to him being Jewish.
“The heirloom is mine, the JEWcy diva lives on” Azealia continued to taunt, making it clear she’s going to hold on to not only the ring, but this foolishness she had already started now claiming she’s jewish.
Banks surprised many when she revealed she ‘said yes’ when Ripps popped the question last month. And she caused a bit of a ruckus with her reaction to the religiously symbolic ring, telling fans: ‘I’m Jewish now. MAZEL TOV B*****S! WE IN HERE…. YERRRRRRR’
It was not clear how long the pair were dating prior to the engagement, however, Banks hinted that they were involved after sharing a post of them together with the caption ‘power couple’ last month. Ripps is said to be the creative director of OKFocus, a digital marketing and design agency that has worked with the likes of Nike and Red Bull.
While nothing Azealia says should be taken with anything but a grain of salt, it really wouldn’t come as a surprise if the two have actually called things off so quickly. What do you guys think?
